What Is Your Decision?
Mark 14:65
In the late hours of the night, Jesus stood before a religious tribunal; His first appearance after being arrested. The scene was tense, unjust, and deeply revealing. The scribes, elders, and high priests had no interest in the truth; they were hunting for a verdict. Desperate to condemn Jesus, they paraded false witnesses, twisted testimonies, and manipulated the law. Yet none of it held. No charge could stick. No evidence could prove guilt.
Until Jesus spoke.
When asked directly by the high priest, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" Jesus answered with clarity and power:
That was enough. The high priest tore his robes and declared, "Blasphemy!" The verdict was sealed, not by truth, but by fear and rejection.
💔 A Verdict Without Justice
Jesus did not commit any sin. The people condemned Him for being who He claimed to be, the Son of God. The religious leaders could not accept that truth, so they rejected it. Their decision was final. They hardened their hearts to the reality. Their verdict was death.
But the question lingers beyond that courtroom:
What is your decision?
🧭 The Question That Echoes Through Time
Every generation must wrestle with the identity of Jesus. Was he a liar? A lunatic? Or truly, Lord? The evidence is compelling:
• His life was sinless (Matt 27:4)
• His teachings were revolutionary (Matt 7:27,28)
• His miracles were undeniable (John 3:1,2)
• His love was sacrificial (John 15:13)
• His resurrection, people witnessed it (1 Cor. 15:1-12)
And yet, the world still divides over Him. Some mock. Some ignore. Some follow. But no one can remain neutral forever.
🔥 The Personal Verdict
The high priest asked his colleagues, "What is your decision?" Today, God asks you the same question. Not in a courtroom, but in your heart, by the Holy Spirit, not by a priest.
Will you condemn Him, or crown Him? (John 5:20-25)
Will you reject Him, or receive Him? (John 12:48)
Will you spit, or surrender? (Luke 6:46)
✨ The Life-Changing Choice
Jesus doesn't force Himself on anyone. But he does confront us with truth. And that truth demands a response. Your decision about Jesus is the most important one you'll ever make. It determines your eternity. It shapes your identity. It defines your destiny.
So, what is your decision?
Will you give Him your attention, your adoration, your devotion, your affection? (Col. 3:1,2)
Or will you turn away, like those who spat and struck?
The choice is yours. But your life depends on it (John 6:67,68).
